Arka AI (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the ARKA Upword mobile application (“the App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
1. Overview
ARKA Upword is an AI-powered resume optimization tool. You can paste your existing resume and a job description to receive an ATS (Applicant Tracking System) score, keyword analysis, and an AI-optimized version of your resume tailored to the role. You can also create a new resume from scratch using just a job description. To deliver this service, the App sends certain data to our backend server and third-party AI services. This policy explains what data is collected, who receives it, and how it is used.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Data You Provide Directly
- •Resume text: The resume content you paste or type into the App for optimization or ATS scoring.
- •Job descriptions: The job listing text you provide for resume matching and analysis.
- •Application tracking data: Company names, role titles, and application statuses you enter in the tracker.
- •Apple Sign-In Data: If you sign in, we receive your Apple-provided user identifier, name, and email address (if you choose to share them).
2.2 Data Collected Automatically
- •We do not collect your location, GPS data, or IP address for tracking.
- •We do not use cookies or third-party analytics SDKs.
- •We do not collect contacts, calendar data, or browsing history.
- •We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes.
3. How Your Data Is Used
3.1 AI-Powered Resume Analysis
When you request an ATS score, resume optimization, or resume creation, the App sends your resume text and job description to our backend server hosted on Vercel. Our backend forwards the data to third-party AI services for processing.
Specifically:
- •The AI processes your resume and job description solely to generate ATS scores, keyword analysis, and optimized resume content.
- •We do not store your resume data on our servers after processing is complete.
- •Your data is not used to train AI models.
3.2 Local Storage
- Optimized resumes, ATS scores, and application tracking data are stored locally on your device using iCloud CloudDocuments, so your data syncs across your Apple devices.
- •Authentication tokens are stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device.
- •You can delete all your data at any time from Settings in the App.
3.3 Exports
Resume exports (PDF and Word) are generated on-device and are not uploaded to our servers.
3.4 Purchases
Credit purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not collect or have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or billing details. We store your transaction ID and credit balance on our server to manage your account.
4. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services:

These services receive your data only when you actively request an analysis or optimization. Data is transmitted securely over HTTPS. AI providers do not retain your data after processing.
5. Data Retention
- •On our servers: Resume text and job descriptions are processed in memory and are not stored after processing is complete. Credit balances and transaction records are stored to manage your account.
- •On your device: Optimized resumes, ATS scores, and application tracking data are stored locally via iCloud CloudDocuments. Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. Both are cleared when you sign out or delete your data.
- •Third-party services: AI providers (Anthropic, Google) do not retain your data after processing the request, as we use API configurations with data retention disabled.
6. Data Security
- •Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between the App, our backend, and third-party services is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS 1.2 or later).
- •Device encryption: Data stored on your device is protected by iOS device-level encryption and iCloud encryption.
- •Secure credentials: Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain, Apple’s secure credential storage.
- •No persistent storage: Resume content is processed in memory on our servers and discarded after the AI response is returned.
7. Your Rights and Choices
AI Data Consent
The App requires your explicit consent before sending any data to third-party AI services. You are shown an AI Data Disclosure screen before your first use. You can review this disclosure at any time from Settings.
Delete your data
You can delete all your locally stored data (resumes, scores, applications) at any time from Settings in the App. Signing out clears all locally stored credentials and profile data.
Document access
The App requests access to your Documents folder only for importing resume files. You choose exactly which files to share with the App.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the App, please contact us and we will delete any associated data.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
