StudySnap AI — Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the StudySnap AI mobile application (“the App”) operated by Arka AI (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, installing, or using StudySnap AI, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Description of Service
StudySnap AI is an AI-powered homework help tool that provides step-by-step solutions, tutoring hints, essay analysis, and lecture summaries. The App uses camera-based problem scanning, text input, and audio recording to deliver AI-generated educational content. All AI-generated content is provided as a learning aid only and is not guaranteed to be error-free. Students should always verify important answers independently.
2. Important Educational Disclaimer
StudySnap AI is a learning aid, not a replacement for teachers, tutors, or independent study.
- •All solutions are AI-generated and intended as educational guidance to help you understand problems and concepts
- •AI analysis can make errors — solutions should never be submitted as your own work without verification
- •Essay feedback and grades are estimates and may not reflect your teacher's grading criteria
- •Lecture summaries are AI-generated approximations and may miss important nuances from your instructor
- •You are responsible for understanding your school's academic integrity policies when using AI homework tools
3. Eligibility
StudySnap AI is designed for students of all ages. Users under 13 should use the App with parental supervision. By using the App, you (or your parent/guardian) agree to these Terms.
The App includes a Parent Dashboard feature that allows parents to set controls, monitor usage, and manage child profiles. We encourage parents to use these features for younger students.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- •Submit content unrelated to educational purposes
- •Attempt to circumvent rate limits, subscription systems, or security measures
- •Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App or its backend services
- •Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access or interact with the App
- •Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the App or its features
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.
5. AI Data Processing
By using the App's AI features, you acknowledge and agree that:
- •Your photos, text, and audio will be transmitted to our servers and processed by third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude via OpenRouter)
- •Content is processed in real-time and is not stored on our servers after processing is complete
- •Solutions and history are stored locally on your device only
- •Your data is never used to train AI models
- •AI-generated solutions are learning aids only — you are responsible for verifying accuracy

6. Subscriptions and Purchases
6.1 StudySnap Pro Subscription
StudySnap AI offers a Pro subscription that unlocks premium features including unlimited solves, model comparison, parent dashboard, and additional tools.
6.2 Subscription Terms
Subscriptions are available as auto-renewing monthly or annual plans through Apple's App Store. All purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
6.3 Free Trial
New subscribers may be eligible for a free trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the displayed price.
6.4 Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted through Apple's support channels at reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not process refunds directly.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Our Content
The App, including its design, code, AI prompts, solution algorithms, and branding, is the property of Arka AI and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App.
7.2 Your Content
You retain ownership of the photos, text, and audio you provide. By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process it solely for the purpose of providing AI-generated solutions. This license terminates when processing is complete.
7.3 AI-Generated Content
AI-generated solutions and summaries are provided for your personal educational use. You may use them for learning purposes. You are solely responsible for how you use any content generated by the App, including compliance with your school's academic integrity policies.
8. Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Specifically:
- •Solutions are AI-generated and may contain mathematical, scientific, or factual errors
- •We do not guarantee that solutions will match your teacher's expected methodology or grading
- •Essay feedback and confidence scores are estimates and should not be relied upon as definitive assessments
- •Service availability may be interrupted for maintenance or due to factors beyond our control
- •Results may vary between sessions due to the nature of AI processing
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arka AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to academic consequences, incorrect solutions, loss of data, or reliance on AI-generated content.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Arka AI from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your reliance on any AI-generated content provided by the App.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. You may delete your data at any time from Settings > Privacy > Delete All Data, or by uninstalling the App.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
