Solutions to common issues you might encounter when using ARKA-AI. Can't find your issue? Contact support.
API Key Issues
"Invalid API key" error
This means your API key was rejected by the provider.
Solutions:
- 1. Check that you copied the entire key (no extra spaces)
- 2. Verify the key hasn't been revoked in your provider dashboard
- 3. Ensure you're using the right key for the right provider
- 4. Generate a new key and try again
"Insufficient credits" or quota errors
Your API provider account doesn't have enough credits.
Solutions:
- 1. Add credits to your OpenAI or OpenRouter account
- 2. Check your billing settings in the provider dashboard
- 3. Verify your payment method is valid
Key works in Playground but not in ARKA-AI
Sometimes there's a delay between key creation and activation.
Solutions:
- 1. Wait 5-10 minutes after creating a new key
- 2. Try removing and re-adding the key in ARKA-AI
- 3. Check if the key has model restrictions (some keys are limited)
Rate Limits & Timeouts
"Rate limit exceeded" error
You've hit your API provider's rate limit.
What happens:
- • ARKAbrain automatically retries with a fallback model
- • If all fallbacks fail, you'll see an error
Solutions:
- 1. Wait a minute and try again
- 2. Request a rate limit increase from your provider
- 3. Add both OpenAI and OpenRouter keys for more capacity
Request timeout
The AI model took too long to respond.
Solutions:
- 1. Try a shorter input (very long inputs take longer)
- 2. Retry the request - sometimes models are temporarily slow
- 3. Check the status of your AI provider
Usage Limit Issues
"Daily limit reached"
You've used all your daily tool uses (Starter plan: 25/day).
Solutions:
- 1. Wait until midnight UTC for your limit to reset
- 2. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited tool uses
"Regeneration limit reached"
You've used all regenerations for this message (Starter: 2 per message).
Solutions:
- 1. Start a new conversation/request for more regenerations
- 2. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited regenerations
Output Quality Issues
Output is too short or cut off
The response was truncated due to token limits.
Solutions:
- 1. Upgrade to Pro for 4x longer responses
- 2. Break your request into smaller parts
- 3. Ask for a "detailed" response to trigger higher limits
Wrong type of response
The AI misunderstood your task.
Solutions:
- 1. Use the specific tool for your task (e.g., "Summarize This")
- 2. Be more explicit about what you want
- 3. Use the "Improve This Prompt" tool to refine your input
- 4. Try regenerating - sometimes a retry produces better results
Account Issues
Can't sign in
Solutions:
- 1. Check that you're using the correct email address
- 2. Try the "Forgot password" flow
- 3. Clear your browser cache and cookies
- 4. Try a different browser or incognito mode
- 5. Contact support if the issue persists
Subscription not showing
Solutions:
- 1. Refresh the page and check Settings → Billing
- 2. Check your email for payment confirmation
- 3. Verify the payment went through in Stripe
- 4. Contact support with your payment receipt
