Create an OpenRouter account and API key to access Claude, Gemini, Llama, and many other AI models through ARKA-AI.
Why OpenRouter?
OpenRouter is a unified API that provides access to 100+ AI models from different providers (Anthropic, Google, Meta, etc.) through a single API key. It often has lower prices than going direct to providers.
Go to openrouter.ai
Click Sign In and create an account using Google, GitHub, or email.
Navigate to Credits and add funds to your account. Start with $5-10 to test.
Navigate to openrouter.ai/keys
Click Create Key. Name it something like "ARKA-AI" for easy identification.
Copy your new API key. It will look like:
sk-or-v1-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxKey Visibility
Unlike OpenAI, OpenRouter lets you view your existing API keys at any time from the Keys page. You can also set spending limits per key.

Huge Context Windows
OpenRouter gives you access to models with massive context windows. Gemini 1.5 Pro supports up to 2 million tokens - enough to analyze entire codebases or books.
OpenRouter uses a credit-based system similar to OpenAI. Key differences:
In ARKA-AI, go to Settings → API Keys.
Click Add Key, select OpenRouter as the provider.
Paste your API key and click Save. ARKA-AI will validate the key.
