Analytics & Insights

Connect Google Search Console and Analytics to get AI-powered insights, track performance metrics, and discover optimization opportunities.

Pro Feature

Analytics integration and AI Insights require a Pro or Agency subscription. Solo tier users can upgrade to access these features.

Overview

The Analytics dashboard provides a unified view of your search performance data from Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4. Combined with AI-powered insights, you can quickly identify opportunities and issues that would take hours to discover manually.

Connecting Google Search Console

Navigate to Integrations

In SEO Assist, go to the Integrations tab and find the Google Search Console section.

Click Connect

Click "Connect Google Search Console" to start the OAuth flow. You'll be redirected to Google to authorize access.

Select Properties

After authorization, select which Search Console properties you want to connect. You can select multiple properties if you manage several websites.

Sync Data

Once connected, SEO Assist will automatically sync your search data. Initial sync may take a few minutes depending on data volume.

Connecting Google Analytics 4

Navigate to Integrations

In the Integrations tab, find the Google Analytics 4 section.

Click Connect

Click "Connect Google Analytics" to authorize access. You may need to grant additional permissions if you previously connected only GSC.

Select Properties

Choose which GA4 properties to connect. Make sure you select the correct property for each website you're managing.

Enable Data Sync

Enable automatic data syncing. SEO Assist will fetch landing page performance, user metrics, and engagement data.

Analytics Dashboard

The dashboard provides a comprehensive view of your search and analytics data:

Search Console Metrics

  • Total Clicks: Number of clicks from search results
  • Total Impressions: How often your pages appeared in search
  • Average CTR: Click-through rate across all queries
  • Average Position: Mean ranking position for your queries
  • Top Queries: Your best-performing search queries
  • Top Pages: Pages receiving the most search traffic

Analytics 4 Metrics

  • Sessions: Total number of visits
  • Users: Unique visitors to your site
  • Bounce Rate: Percentage of single-page sessions
  • Avg. Session Duration: How long users stay on your site
  • Page Views: Total pages viewed
  • Landing Pages: Entry points with engagement metrics

Date Range Options

Filter your data by different time periods:

  • Last 7 Days: Recent performance snapshot
  • Last 28 Days: Monthly overview (default)
  • Last 90 Days: Quarterly trends and patterns

AI-Powered Insights

SEO Assist analyzes your data to automatically surface actionable insights. Each insight includes severity, specific metrics, and suggested actions.

Low CTR

Pages with high impressions but low click-through rates. These have visibility but need better titles/descriptions.

Quick Wins

Keywords ranking positions 8-20 (page 2). Small improvements can move these to page 1 for significant traffic gains.

Click Drops

Pages experiencing significant traffic decreases. Investigate algorithm changes, technical issues, or competitor content.

Hidden Gems

Content with high engagement but low impressions. Promote these pages more prominently to drive additional traffic.

Managing Insights

Each insight can be tracked through a workflow:

  • Open: New insight awaiting review
  • In Progress: You're actively working on the recommendation
  • Resolved: Issue has been addressed
  • Dismissed: Insight is not relevant or actionable

Prioritize by Impact

Focus on Quick Wins first—they often provide the fastest ROI. A keyword moving from position 11 to position 8 can increase clicks by 50% or more.

Suggested Actions

Each insight includes specific actions you can take. Actions are rated by:

  • Priority: High, Medium, or Low based on potential impact
  • Effort: Quick (< 30 min), Medium (1-4 hours), or High (4+ hours)

For the best results, start with High Priority / Quick Effort actions to get wins quickly, then work through more intensive improvements.

Data Synchronization

SEO Assist syncs data automatically based on your settings:

  • GSC Data: Top 1,000 queries and 500 pages per sync
  • GA4 Data: Top 500 landing pages with engagement metrics
  • Sync Frequency: Data updates every 24 hours automatically
  • Manual Sync: Force a refresh from the dashboard settings

Data Freshness

Google Search Console data typically has a 2-3 day delay. The most recent data you'll see is usually from 2-3 days ago.
